Description
Step back into the golden era of the American West with this authentic Colt Frontier Six Shooter, manufactured in 1916 and chambered in the legendary .44-40 WCF. This revolver features a 7.5-inch barrel, classic blue and case color finish, and original black checkered hard rubber grips—all numbered to the gun. Every detail on this Colt echoes over a century of history, from the sharp Rampant Colt logo to the well-preserved frame markings.
The revolver retains about 90% original blue on the barrel and ejector housing, with most finish loss along the housing and some patina on exposed areas. The cylinder shows 60–65% original blue, fading to a gentle gray with operational wear, while the triggerguard and backstrap display honest patina from a life well-lived. The checkered grips remain very good with only minor smoothing and a small chip at the toe, adding to the character of this vintage piece.
A true collector’s firearm, this Colt’s mechanicals show its age—action will need attention as the trigger drops the hammer on half-cock and the bolt doesn’t fully engage, but all major parts are matching and the bore is near excellent. Perfect for advanced collectors, Colt historians, or anyone searching for a classic six-shooter with unmistakable Old West pedigree.
